March Update

Hello lovelies, I hope you're all healthy and happy! It's the first day of Spring, which means things are about to get poppin' - it seems like Winter has taken forever this time around and I'm looking forward to sunny days and flowers in bloom.

I have a couple of major updates aside from pin statuses that I'd like to share.

  • It's my birthday month! My birthday is actually in 2 days, which is kind of crazy because I normally have a countdown and everything for myself - so many things have happened over the last year that I didn't even notice the date creeping up on me (or maybe it's my old age, who knows LOL).

So what does this mean for you? You may have already seen it in my posts and stories, but I'm having a month long sale in my shop! The majority of my in-hand pins are 15% off right now, no code needed. We're 20 days into the month & the sale, so make sure to take advantage of the discount while it's available.

  • Ya girl is rebranding! Nothing crazy, of course. I'm just transitioning from Hamachi Harlot Pins to Hamachi Harlot Art... which brings me to my next update.

  • I'm very excited to share that Hamachi Harlot Pins is now Hamachi Harlot Art, LLC! I only just started pin-making in the middle of 2020 and what was a little hobby has become a modestly successful business, which blows my mind. Nine months ago, I would have never imagined that I'd need to have a business license, that I'd co-run a cool Patreon with an amazing pin sister, make so many friends, and have so many pins (both designed and personally collected lmao).

I just want to say thank you if you've ever purchased a pin, pledged for the Pin Sisters Patreon, liked or shared a post, or even just thought that something I made looked nice. Thank you, I love you.
  • I used to have just one manu and things were going swell until their quality started dropping. I think they may have gotten overloaded or perhaps a surge of new business, because their production times became longer and the amount of B & C grades I was starting to get was becoming unacceptable. I actually pulled some designs from them and had to shop around to find new, reputable manufacturers to entrust my pins with. I have found several that I'm now working with, this will help speed up my turnaround time.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's get to the good stuff.

Cherry Blossom
I'm really stoked to see the progress my manu is making on her. I know it's taken a while and I apologize for the delay, having to switch manus really impacted my fulfillment time - but they'll definitely be worth the wait. Currently, they're plated and both the flowers and Sakura herself are already filled. Now they're working on the enamel for the background with the pearl swirl. I really like this manu because they take their time to make sure the details are exactly how I want them.

Ball Boys 1, 2 & 3
The third years are getting the enamel filled currently, the molds were completed last week and they look really good. These pins are in the same situation as Cherry Blossom, finding a new manu has really taken its toll on my turnaround time but I feel very comfortable and reassured with them, so I apologize again for the delay.

These should be done this weekend! I have a different manu for these pins and so far they've done a great job. They'll be shipped out to me in two days, so I should hopefully be getting them this week so I can grade and ship preorders!

Date Night
I'm going back and forth on the art proof with my manu on these to ensure the colors are perfect, but they're paid for and this particular manu has great communication. I'm estimating 3-4 weeks on this, but when I know more, you'll know more.

Surprise! I haven't forgotten about my Chakra Babies, Matatabi is in bulk production already. The samples look great and they should be move on to plating and printing soon. I decided to self fund the remainder of my Chakra Babies, so these will come out at a slower pace.

I mentioned this last month, but these were necessary pre-orders so we needed to have a certain amount of orders to be able to put these into production. Manda (BowPeeps) and I knew this was running long, so we went ahead and self-funded the remainder despite not having very many orders because we really want to see these pins out in the world. Currently, we're waiting on the art proof from my manu (the same one that's working on Cherry Blossom and Ball Boys).

Anata Series - January
They're almost done! ChelChel and I have had to go back and forth with the colors for Wind Princess's background, but the characters themselves are already filled and the pins are plated. It's just backgrounds left, then screenprint, then they can get shipped out to us!

Anata Series - February
There is a delay on these because of Lunar New Year, the manu working on the Sand Siblings is going to be working on this set as well. Currently waiting on art proofs for them, this manu is a bit slower. Because of this, we've decided to step back from making the Anata Series a monthly set. We'll still be coming out with more designs, but instead of a monthly cadence, we'll be able to invest more time into them and not feel rushed to pump out less than stellar work.

Anbu Captains - Owl
The molds were completed a little while back, and he is currently getting colored! ChelChel and I are super stoked for him, and production is on track.

Dobby Hill
This design makes me laugh so much. I don't normally step outside of anime, but Manda and I were face-timing one day and the idea just came to us - we had to make him. Artwork has already been approved and the mold is in progress.
